A self-taught artist who began making small pieces of furniture using sustainably sourced wood. I had been collecting bogwood from bogs (with permission) for years inspiring the creation of more artistic forms. Once Queen’s University, Belfast dated the wood to c.3000BC combined with my interest in Irish archaeology this exhibition was imagined and now realised.
The use of this wood is the verifiable link to that era and showcases the beauty of my favourite medium while using artefacts as a source of inspiration links to our ancient peoples and their life when this pine was living timber.
